If you are thinking of taking a city break, then here’s a list of must visit cities in 2016:

Washington D.C.

It’s election year, so what better city to visit than Washington D.C. Home to the seat of the Government of the United States, Washington D.C. is full of historical sights that are important to the development of this great country. Take a walk on the Hill or try out some of the amazing food that this bustling city has to offer. If you take a short trip from the city, you can pay your respects to J.K.F. and Jackie Kennedy Onassis at the Arlington National Cemetery.

New York

What top 10 list would miss the city that never sleeps. Good at any time of the year, New York has everything from amazing shopping, incredible cuisine from all over the world, and activities to suit anyone of any age. There are so many things to do in New York, but if you go be sure to visit the High Line (a public walkway built on an unused rail line that offers a park like setting and amazing vistas over the city).


3. Savannah, Georgia
If a more relaxing city break is for you, then why not kick back in Savannah. Offering a laid back vibe, pretty scenery, museums and the beautiful Forsyth park Savannah offers a slower paced city break. If you are in town during the warmer season, then be sure to stop at Leopold’s for a delicious ice cream.

Las Vegas

Whether you are an adult looking for a weekend getaway or a family, Las Vegas has something to offer you. Although it’s reputation may precede it, Las Vegas can be family friendly – just remember to avoid the weekends and late nights on the Strip. Adults will enjoy one of the amazing hotels on the Strip, but if you’re a family looking off-Strip accommodation, the Orleans is highly recommended. With it’s bowling center, arcade, pool and food court, the Orleans offers incredible views, at an affordable price and is only a few minutes drive from the Strip. If you have a good sized budget, then a helicopter flight to the grand canyon is also an incredible experience.

Portland is fast gaining traction as a great city to visit. Located in the beautiful state of Oregon, Portland offers crafts brewerys, great dining and beautiful scenery. To really see the city, why not take a bicycle tour!


6. Orlando, Florida
Orlando is a city that practically sells itself. With its good climate, reasonably priced accommodation and plentiful activities, Orlando makes a fantastic city break at any time of year. If you head there in the low season, you will spend less time in queues and save yourself a lot of money.


7. Atlanta, Georgia
Not only does Atlanta have all of the big city offerings, it is also home to the Georgia Aquarium. The Georgia Aquarium, which is the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, makes a frequent appearance on the bucket list of people all around the country.

Looking for a city break with a beautiful landscape that’s an adventure playground? Then Denver is for you. It’s beautiful scenery, skiing at its doorstep or craft food and beers are all fantastic reasons to visit this beautiful city.

San Diego

Looking for a city break for the whole family. Why not try San Diego. With everything from Legoland (and its recently completed hotel) to San Diego Zoo, its amazing beaches, naval history and relaxed vibe, San Diego has something to offer everyone in the family. If you do make it to Legoland, don’t forget to try Granny’s apple fries. Delicious!

10. Honolulu, Hawaii
If you are after a special city with a little bit of everything, then look no further than Honolulu on Hawaii’s Oahu Island. Honolulu provides a large range of accommodation and holiday options.
